Ainsworth Guitars

John Ainsworth first started making classical guitars over 20 years ago and in recent years has been a full time luthier. John originally tried making a guitar when, as a player, he was frustrated with the quality of his own instrument.

His guitars are constructed in accordance with the traditional Spanish methods, using a mould and with the sides fitted into slots in the heel of the neck. The soundboard and Torres style strutting is assembled on a solera. The guitars are finished using either lacquer or French polish.

Famous concert artists, such as Julian Bream, John Williams and Alirio Diaz tried out his guitars and gave very favourable comments on them
