D M Guitars is owned and run by Dan MacPherson. Dan is a professional member of NAMIR (National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers) and a member of IMIT (Institute of Musical Instrument Technology)

Dan specialises in Custom Hand Made Guitars, made to your specification from quality woods that have been expertly selected, machined and prepared by Dan himself.

Dan also makes replacement bodies, necks and scratchplates.

Biography:

Dan MacPherson started working on Guitars at the age of fourteen under the guidance of Master Luthier Steve Smith who made the Heart and Heartwood guitars as well as the early Goodfellow basses. Working at weekends and also after school it didn't take long for Dan to learn the rudiments of the trade in which he would make his living.

In 1990 D.M. Guitars was established, and with the wealth of knowledge gained working for Steve Smith, Dan MacPherson was able to continue working on his own providing a first class service as a guitar maker and repairer.

By 1995 D.M. Guitars had become a major player in the British Guitar industry as D.M. Guitars was now providing paintwork for some of the most recognisable names in the business, as well as continuing to make Guitars and provide a full repair service.

In 2003 D.M. Guitars moved to a new larger workshop, which would incorporate the new Luthier supplies section of the company. Continuing to provide paintwork for some of Britain's well known Luthiers and brand names, D.M. Guitars now also provides these company's with timber, bodies and necks. February 2007 - Dan MacPherson becomes a professional member of NAMIR (the National association of musical instrument repairers) and in January 2008 gets accepted as a member of the Institute of musical instrument technology.

July 2008 - D.M. Guitars relocates to the Rosshill industrial Park in Southend-on-sea.
