Derek has been making, restoring and mending guitars for many more years then he cares to remember.
His company, Mansel Guitars, specialises in renovating vintage acoustic instruments. But like many other luthiers he undertakes set-ups, re-fretting, replacing fretboards/bridges, re-finishing etc. and repair modern instruments, including solid body guitars, when requested. He is a sole practitioner and all of his work is undertaken to order, by hand, using traditional methods and (mostly) hand tools.
