Richard Meyrick Guitars

Richard has been making things from wood since he was a boy. After building his first guitar aged 16 out of old bits and bobs scrounged from here and there he decided to invest some time in studying. He enrolled at London Metropolitan University (formerly the London School of Furniture) where many of Britain’s guitar makers learned their trade and graduated with a first class degree in musical instrument technology. He now resides in rural Monmouthshire where he has a small workshop.

Richard can make your acoustic guitar out of almost any tonewood you wish, although in my experience certain woods are more suitable than others. He prefers to use European Spruce for the soundboards and braces and Walnut for bodies.

In addition to building new guitars Richard offers a full repair and set-up service.
